CNN Accused of Burying Own Poll Results on Trump’s Favorability

Is CNN purposely being deceptive?

The network stands accused of burying its own poll results showing Trump’s favorability.

CNN Publishes New Poll Showing Trump’s Favorability

A brand new poll from CNN was published Wednesday, and the results may or may not shock you. Although the poll showed Former Vice President Joe Biden holding a 5-point lead over President Trump among voters, the poll also showed Trump with a 7-point lead over Biden in several key battleground states.

Those critical battleground states could decide the electoral college come November.

CNN did report these findings in an article. However, it is starting to look like they downplayed President Trump’s favorability among voters in order to push their preferred agenda.

National Review critic-at-large Kyle Smith noticed that the poll results weren’t exactly prominent.

“Polls are expensive, news organizations tend to hype them breathlessly to generate headlines in rival media outlets,” Smith wrote in a column for National Review. “Yet CNN seemed oddly unenthused about its own poll.”

CNN “Unenthused” as Trump Scores Higher Than Ever

Smith goes on to point out that CNN never even mentions that President Trump has never scored higher in a CNN poll. In fact, his approval ratings have never been higher, including Election Day in 2016.

That seems pretty newsworthy, so why isn’t CNN talking about it?

The article itself does talk about Trump’s 7-point lead in battleground states. However, they seem to downplay this fact by not even telling us what that figure is.

On top of that, they go on to note, “Given the small sample size in that subset of voters, it is difficult to determine with certainty whether the movement is significant or a fluke of random sampling.”

Had their findings leaned another way, would they still be devaluing the poll in this same way?

According to Fox News, a review of transcripts also pointed to CNN trying to bury its own poll results. They found that only one CNN program on Wednesday mentioned the poll indicating Trump’s favorability in battleground states.

CNN polls were cited on-air on various shows, but never about Trump’s favorability — only in reference to trusting Dr. Anthony Fauci more than Trump, whether sports leagues should reopen, and other topics.

What does this mean for CNN? It’s unclear right now, but it does give President Trump a lot more credibility when he critcises major news organizations for being unfair. Clearly, something is going on.
